Stream2Player

Features

What Stream2Player does, in plain words

This is the full list. If a feature isn't here, the app doesn't have it, and we'd rather tell you that than hint otherwise.

Live TV

Channels are grouped in the categories your provider defines, with a Favorites tab and an All tab at the front. The list is built to stay fast even with thousands of channels, because only the rows near the cursor are drawn. Channel logos load a moment after you stop scrolling so fast browsing doesn't stall.

Press Up while watching to open an info bar. It shows the channel number and name, the current and next program when your provider sends a guide, and technical details: video codec, audio codec, channel layout and the current download speed, only when the app can actually read them. If it can't tell, it shows nothing rather than guessing.

Left and Right switch channels while the bar is closed. You can also type a channel number with the number keys.

Movies and series

Movies and series have their own sections with posters and ratings if your playlist includes them. Series open into a plain episode list. Playback has a progress bar you can drive with the remote's arrows or, with a pointer remote, click anywhere on it.

Audio and subtitles

The Subtitles & Audio button opens a panel for audio tracks and subtitles. For MKV movies, text subtitles stored inside the file (SRT, ASS/SSA and WebVTT) are listed by language. Subtitles stay off until you choose one. Image-based subtitles, subtitles inside MP4 files and separate subtitle files are not supported.

Controls

Everything works with the arrow keys, OK, Back, Channel +/- and the color buttons. If your remote has a pointer, such as the LG Magic Remote, every list, button and key on screen also responds to hover, click and the scroll wheel, and you can click the progress bar to jump to a spot.

Holding OK on a channel opens a small menu with Add to favorites and Lock. The same menu is on the Blue button.

Favorites and PIN lock

Favorites collect your channels in one tab. For households with kids, you can lock individual channels or entire categories. Locked items ask for a 4-digit PIN. The PIN starts at 0000 and is yours to change in Settings. It is a convenience feature, so please keep supervising children as usual.

Speed and reliability

Your lists are cached on the TV, so the app opens straight into your content and refreshes in the background. If a stream stalls, the player tries to recover on its own. In Settings you can switch the live stream format if one works better with your provider.

Privacy

There is no account, no analytics and no advertising. The app sends your activation code and a random device ID to the activation service, and nothing else about you. Favorites, locks and your PIN stay on the TV. Details are in the privacy policy.

Not included

No channels or media (that's your provider's job), no recording, no image-based subtitles, no external subtitle files.
